Ephesians 1:16 – 21 KJV
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
σοφία sophia wisdom – divine insight into the reality of spiritual and physical things; application of intelligence and knowledge of spiritual and physical things.

That is why ·since [ because] I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all ·God’s people [the saints], I ·have not stopped [never cease] giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you ·a spirit of wisdom [ spiritual wisdom; the Spirit of wisdom] and revelation so that you will know him better. I pray also that ·you will have greater understanding in your heart [the eyes of your heart may be enlightened] so you will ·know [comprehend] the hope to which he has called us and that you will know ·how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised [the riches of his glorious inheritance for; the glorious wealth of an inheritance that God possesses in] ·his holy people [the saints]. And you will know that God’s power is ·very [exceedingly; overwhelmingly] great for us who believe. That power ·is the same as [ was demonstrated in] the great strength God ·used [exerted] to raise Christ from the dead and ·put [seat] him at his right ·side [hand; ; ] in the heavenly ·world [realm; places]. God has put Christ ·over [far above] all rulers, authorities, powers, and ·kings [lords; dominion], and every other ·title given [name that is named] not only in this ·world [age] but also in the ·next [coming one].
ἀποκάλυψις apokalupsis revelation – appearing, manifestation, physical uncovering of hidden spiritual things, be revealed.

That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn’t stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
εἴδω eidō know – see, be aware, behold, look upon, perceive, see with understanding.
Pray The Word
God and Father of glory, I thank you for giving me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Thank you for giving me illumination, experiences and visual encounters of the Lord Jesus Christ and of the Word of God. Thank you for enlightening the eyes of my understanding that I may know, see and experience our Lord Jesus Christ, and know the hope of Your calling for my life, and the glorious riches of Your inheritance in the saints. Grant me today, wisdom, knowledge, understanding and revelation of the exceeding greatness of Your power at work in us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in the Lord Jesus Christ when you raised Him from the dead and set Him at your right hand in the heveanly places far above all principality, all power, all might, all dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world but the world which is to come in the name the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
Speak The Word
The spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God is at work in me. The eyes of my understanding are flooded with the revelatory light-knowledge of God and of the hope of His calling, and the glorious inheritance that He has given to His saints. This light-knowledge of God empowers me to see, encounter and experience our Lord Jesus Christ. The wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God’s resurrection power is at work in me, according to the same degree that God worked it in Christ when He raised Him from dead and sat Him at His right hand in the heveanly places far above all principality, power and might and dominion and every named that is named, not only in this world but in the world which is to come.
