The Release of God’s Power Within
Study The Word
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
You know, we’ve been talking about the incredible experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit. And here’s something crucial: when people got filled with the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts, they began to speak in
other tongues! This is not just a side note; it’s a powerful, undeniable evidence! What is the importance of speaking with other tongues? What does speaking in tongues do for a Christian? I tell you this: until a Christian, a believer, is speaking in tongues, they haven’t yet fully lived out the true Christian life! Yes, they’ve been born again, that legality of salvation is established in their human spirit, and they have a new spirit in them, glory to God! But for that reality, that life, to begin to be expressed out, that person needs to not only receive the Holy Spirit and be filled, but they now have to speak in other tongues! Speaking in tongues is mandatory for every believer in Jesus Christ!
ἀποφθέγγομαι apophtheggomai utterance – to speak out, speak forth, pronounce elevated discourse, speak forth, utterance
Jesus Himself said it in Mark chapter 16, verse 17: “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall speak with new tongues!” This is not an option, my friend, it’s a sign! A witness! And why is it so important? Because speaking in tongues releases the power of the life of God that is in your human spirit! Until you start speaking in tongues, the power, the reality, the ability for you to live out that life that has been deposited in your human spirit – it is not working yet! You are born again, you have believed in Jesus Christ, but for you to begin to live out that life and to experience the power of being a child of God, you have to receive the Holy Spirit and start speaking in other tongues! Acts chapter 1, verse 8 says, “But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses.” What does it mean to be a witness? It means you shall have the evidence! A witness provides evidence, brings out the truth, the reality of what has happened. You cannot begin to produce evidence of the authenticity and reality and truth of your salvation in Christ Jesus without receiving the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues! Speaking in tongues is what brings out that life that has been deposited in your human spirit! Hallelujah!
Pray The Word
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the ability to speak in tongues. I recognize that speaking in tongues is essential for releasing the power of Your life within me and for experiencing the fullness of my Christian walk. I pray for a greater expression of this spiritual gift in my life.
Speak The Word
I am filled with the Holy Spirit and I speak in other tongues! My tongue is released to bring forth the power of God’s life within me! I am a witness of Christ’s salvation, producing evidence of His reality in my life through the power of the Holy Spirit!
