Jesus Is Life: Life Is A Person

John 11:25-26
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Have you ever wondered why with all the technological development and advancements of science, biological science and medical science, with all of that they have been able to accomplish, man has been unable to capture the source of life in a lab and control it and or even give it to whoever they want? Trust me if they could, man would have done it; but life is something that man in all his knowledge and wisdom and technological advancements has been unable to ultimately capture, and or control.

Man can only manage it to the best of his ability, and maybe explain how it works, but he can never capture it, manipulate it or extend it at will, whether in a person, an animal, or even plants.

Some how, somewhere there seems to be an invisible force that controls the life of everything, and nobody knew what or who was or is behind it all until Jesus showed up and said something absolutely unprecedented: “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after they die.”

What kind of person speaks like this? What kind of person makes such audacious claims about life? Listen, only Jesus Christ has ever made such a claim, nobody else in all of man’s existence has ever uttered such bold claims.  And not only that, he backed it up by not only raising the dead, but also by coming back alive from the dead Himself. What a flex.
Now, the reason why man has been unable to isolate life and its source and capture it in a test tube is because life is a Person. The Bible clearly reveals to us that this Person is none other than Jesus Christ Himself. Science has only been able to somewhat explain or describe life but have been unable to capture it, manipulate it or extend it.  And no matter how long they try they will never be able to capture it because this thing called life, that they are trying to capture is a Person.  Whether it is animal life, human life, plant life, sea life, spiritual life, the different kinds of life – Jesus said that He is the source and principle behind every living thing; meaning that He is life – all life – the life. This means that all things live because of Him.

Never forget this, the only reason why man and science will never be able to isolate life, to capture life and give life to whoever and whatever living organism in a laboratory is because life is a person – and His name is Jesus. He said “I am the resurrection and the life.”  He is “the resurrection and the life” – “the anastasis and the zōē “. Glory to God!!
Zōē is the life giving source and principle of every living thing.  That is what man and scientists have been trying to capture but can’t; because zōē  is a Person.  He said that He only is the Giver and Source of ALL life, for every living thing-this is Jesus. These truths that He spoke concerning who He was and who He is go beyond religion.  Nobody ever spoke like this, nobody ever spoke like Jesus! This is the crux of Christianity – being connected and being in relationship with the source of life so that we may live. And that life has a name, and that is Jesus Christ. He said “I am come so that they may have life, and have it to the full;” in John 10:10.

Do you understand what this means for you? You are not just connected to some abstract concept of eternal existence. You are in relationship with life Himself! When you have Jesus, you literally have the life dwelling within you. This changes everything about how you see yourself, how you see your circumstances, how you see your future.
1 John 5:11 says “He who has the Son has life”. If you have Jesus, that means that you have life, because life is a Person.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the revelation that Jesus is not just the giver of life, but He is Life itself. I thank You that through faith in Him, I have been connected to the very source and essence of all life. Thank You that Life Himself dwells within me, and I am no longer subject to the limitations that science and human knowledge cannot overcome, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus is my life! He is the resurrection and the life dwelling within me! I am connected to the source of all life – not just existence, but abundant, eternal, supernatural life. What science cannot capture or control, I carry within my spirit. I live by the power of Life Himself – Jesus Christ. Death has no dominion over me because I am united with the One who is Life!

Jesus Is Life: The Last Adam – A Life Giving Spirit

1 Corinthians 15:45
“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”

This scripture reveals one of the most profound transformations in all of creation – the difference between the first Adam and the last Adam. The first man Adam was made a living soul; but something incredible happened with the last Adam. The last Adam was made a quickening spirit! Do you see the progression? Do you see the advancement? From living soul to quickening spirit!

The first Adam received life; the last Adam became the giver of life. The first Adam was animated by life; the last Adam became life itself. The first Adam could sustain his own existence; the last Adam could impart life and existence to others. What a transformation! What an elevation!

Now, when we understand that Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life”, we begin to see how this connects with Paul’s revelation in 1 Corinthians 15:45.  Jesus didn’t just receive life like Adam did – He became the very essence and source of life! He became a life-giving spirit! A quickening spirit! This means He has the power to impart life, to quicken, to make alive whatever is dead.

And here’s what will absolutely bless your understanding: see, when you were born again, you didn’t just receive life from Jesus – you received Jesus Himself, who IS life! You didn’t get a portion of life; you got the personification of life Himself dwelling within you. You didn’t get life as a gift separate from the giver; you got the Giver of life as your life!  And because of this you have also now become “a quickening spirit –  “a life giving spirit!”

This is why Colossians 3:4 says “Christ, who IS OUR LIFE shall appear….” Not Christ who gives us life, but Christ who IS our life! Do you see the difference? When Christ is your life, then you’re not operating from the limited human existence – you’re operating from the unlimited, inexhaustible life of Jesus Christ!

ζωοποιέω zōopoieō quickening – to make alive, give life to, quicken, to cause to live, to give spiritual life

The first Adam could only sustain himself; but you, connected to the last Adam, are now be a life-giver! You can speak life into dead situations, dead dreams, dead relationships, dead circumstances. Why? Because you’re not operating from the first Adam’s living soul level – you’re operating from the last Adam’s quickening spirit level!

This is why you can lay hands on the sick and they recover. This is why you can speak to dead situations and they come alive. This is why depression, discouragement, and defeat have no power over you. You’re not just alive – you’re connected to the One who is life, the quickening Spirit, Jesus Christ!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the revelation of the last Adam, Jesus Christ, who became a quickening spirit. Thank You that I am not limited to the first Adam’s living soul existence, but I am elevated to participate in the last Adam’s life-giving power. Thank You that Christ is my life, and through Him I can be a life-giver to my world, in Jesus’ name, amen.

I am connected to the last Adam, Jesus Christ, who is a quickening spirit! Christ is my life – not just my life-giver, but my very life itself! I operate from His life-giving power within me. I speak life into dead situations. I am not limited to mere existence – I carry the power of the One who IS life. Through Christ, I am a life-giver in my generation!

Jesus Is Life: The Way, Truth, And Life

John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Ponder on the audacity of this statement for a moment! Think deeply about the absoluteness of this declaration! Jesus didn’t say “I know the way to life” or “I can show you life” – He said “…I AM…the life!” Imagine.  Nobody ever spoke like this, nobody ever spoke like Jesus! This goes beyond religion, beyond philosophy, beyond ordinary human understanding. This is a declaration that dramatically alters everything we thought we knew about existence itself.

When Jesus declares “I am the life”, He’s not speaking metaphorically or symbolically. He’s making a literal, absolute claim about His identity and nature. He’s saying that life itself – not just spiritual life, but all life – finds its source, its essence, its very being in Him.

όδός  hodos  way – road, journey, path, conduct, way of thinking

Now, notice the order of His declaration: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He didn’t randomly arrange these attributes.

Jesus Is The Way – The Way that leads to the truth, Jesus Is The Truth – The truth that reveals the reality of life, and Jesus Is The Life – the principle source and essence of every living thing.

He IS the life that the entire world is seeking! That is Jesus, He is not a religious leader. Jesus Is Life.  This means that all the searching, all the striving, all the seeking that humanity has been engaged in throughout history – whether through science, philosophy, religion, or technology – all of it has been a search for Jesus, whether they know it or not! Because Jesus is life, and every living thing is unconsciously drawn to its source.

ἀλήθεια  alētheia  truth – reality, fact, certainty

And here’s where it gets even more revolutionary: “no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Why? Because the Father is Spirit, and you need life to approach the Spirit. You need to be alive to commune with God. And since Jesus IS life, He’s not just the pathway to God – He’s the very life that makes relationship with God possible!

This is why man, with all his technological advancement, has been unable to capture life. They’re trying to capture a Person! They’re trying to isolate Jesus in a laboratory! Haha! How can you put the Creator of the universe in a test tube? How can you capture the One who said “I am the life” and control Him with human instruments?

Think about this: every breath you take, every heartbeat, every function of your body – it’s all sustained by Jesus, who IS life. Every tree that grows, every animal that moves, every form of life that exists does so because Jesus, who is Life Himself, sustains it all.

This is beyond normal human comprehension, it’s too big for religious Christianity that why they all over social media arguing about theology and never getting to know the Person of Jesus; and such an annoyance to some of us who encountered this Person.  It takes the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word to grasp this.

When you born again and filled with the Holy Spirit and you begin to understand this stuff, you realize you’re not just a mere believer or mere follower Jesus “the religious leader(nonsense) – you’ll discover that you’re now a carrier of Divine Life! And, you no longer just have life; you have the One who IS life dwelling within you! Khayayayaa! Glory to God! What a life!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the revelation that Jesus is not just the giver of life, but He IS life itself and life Himself. Thank You that in Him I have found not just the way to life, but the God kind of Life.  in Jesus’ name, amen.

I have the life of God in me. Jesus is my life! I am a member of His Body, of His flesh and of His bones.  Every cell, every bone, every fibre of my being in inundated with the very life of Jesus Christ Himself. I am a life giving Spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit.  I carry the God Life within me! I am alive with the life of Jesus Christ. No power of death, sickness, or destruction can overcome me because I am united with the One who IS life – Jesus Christ!

Jesus Is Life: Life Is Illumination

John 1:4
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Take a moment to just think about the connection between life and light? John reveals something profound here – he says that in Jesus was life, and that Jesus was the very life that became the light of men. This is a beautiful revelation of how eternal life functions! Eternal life produces light! That means where there is true life – zōē life, God-kind of life – there will always be illumination, understanding, revelation!

This is why when people encounter the Person of Jesus – who IS life – they receive light! They get understanding! Things that were once dark and confusing suddenly become clear! Why? Because life and light are inseparable! You cannot have one without the other! That’s why Jesus said “I am the Light of the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

There is a light of life and that also means that there is a darkness of life.  What is the darkness of life? The darkness of life is not knowing the real truth about any and every subject and aspect that has to do with life, purpose and existence.  Everything is speculative, nothing is ever sure; but when when Jesus comes in, there is surety of existence, surety of purpose, surety of life. Only Jesus gives to man the surety of life –  not only of the life that now is but also of the life that here after.  Nobody and nothing else has ever given a proven surety of life after death apart from Jesus.
He did this by being raised back to life from the dead. This and lot more is all that the resurrection is about. The surety and certainty of life. Jesus Is Life!
Think about this: everywhere Jesus went, people received light. The blind received sight, the confused received understanding, the lost received direction, the hopeless received vision, knowledge and understanding. Why? Because Life Himself was walking among them, and wherever Life goes, the light of life is present!
Listen, ”I can never walk in confusion! I have the light of life! I can never walk in darkness, because I have the light of life!  I always know what to do, I always know where to go, I always know how to do what to do, because I have the light of life!” I am a source of inspiration; I am a source of divine direction, I am a source of divine insight and truth!

Now here’s where it becomes personal for you: if you have Jesus –  then you also carry light! That’s why He said “You are the light of the world”,  because the same life that Jesus has He has, He has given to you also, and so you now have within you the light of men in your spirit! This means you are not meant to live in darkness, confusion, or ignorance about anything! Your life is now a life of illumination because you have the life-light of Christ in you.

Let’s look at John 8:12 again, He says “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”  So, the light of life! The life that Jesus IS produces the light that dispels all darkness! And if you follow Him – if you have Him dwelling within you – you have this light of life operating within your spirit!
Understanding this means you realize that having Jesus means having perpetual illumination! You have the Light-Producer Himself living within you!

What area of your life needs light? What situation seems dark and hopeless? What decision has you confused? What future seems unclear? Remember, you don’t just have access to wisdom and understanding – you have the Source of all light dwelling within your spirit! The same life that is the light of men is now your life!

This is why as a child of God you should never live in confusion or darkness about God’s will for your life. This is why we should never be stumbling around in spiritual ignorance. We have Life, and that Life IS light! We carry within us the illuminating power that dispels every form of darkness! Glory to God!

Matthew 5:14 “Ye are the light of the world.” Why can Jesus say this about us? Because we carry The Life that IS Light! We don’t just reflect light – we carry the source of the light of men within us! How incredible is that? When eternal life is in you, you become a light-bearer to a dark world!

Heavenly Father, I thank You that in Jesus was life, and that life was and is the light of men. Thank You that I don’t just have access to light and understanding, but I carry the Life that produces light within my spirit. Let this divine light illuminate every area of my life that seems dark or confusing. Help me to walk as a light-bearer in this world, carrying Your illuminating life wherever I go, in Jesus’ name, amen.

In Jesus was life, and that life is the light of men! I carry this same life within me, which means I carry the light-producing power of God! I do not walk in darkness, confusion, or ignorance because the Life that IS light dwells within my spirit! I am the light of the world because I carry the Source of all light within me! Every dark situation in my life must yield to the illuminating power of the divine life within me!

Jesus Is Life: Divine Life In Abundance

John 10:10
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

I love what Jesus said in our opening scripture.  He said “I am come so that they may have life, and have it to the full.” This is Jesus Christ declaring His purpose, His very reason for coming to earth. But notice what He’s offering – this is not just life as in another life; but life that is of God and also the God life abundantly! What we have is the fullness of life beyond the ordinary human life!
The Greek word for abundant here is perissos, which means a life that exceeds some number or measure, over and above, more than is necessary, superabundant in quantity and superior in quality. In other words, Jesus didn’t come to give us life enough to get by – He came to give us life that is superabundant in quantity and superior in quality.

This that you now have as a child of God is a life that overflows, a life that exceeds every human limitation, a superior life that is surpassing the normal human capacity of existence! This life, is not just sustained by the physical, natural, biological nature of human existence; this is zoe, the divine life that has it’s origin and source from Jesus Christ Himself who is seated in the heavenly places on the throne in heaven.
This is where the life that is now in you comes from and gets it’s sustenance from. Wow! What a life!

περισσός perissos abundantly – exceeding, superabundant, superior, overflowing

When Jesus talks about giving us life, He’s talking about imparting His very nature in us! Remember, Jesus IS life. So when He gives us life – zoe, He’s giving us His supernatural life!  There’s no longer anything natural about your life anymore if you are in Christ Jesus. Everything about you and your identity is now supernatural; it is now divine.

This superabundant divine life is about the fullness of His life being manifest in and through you! It’s about His zōē – aionios zoe – eternal life, His divinity flowing and permeating in and through every area of your existence!

In Christ you have the fullness of the divine life! You don’t just have some level of access to spiritual life here and there to supplement “human nature” – you have the source of all life – eternal life in your spirit, pulsating through your body!  You are not ordinary anymore. The life of Jesus is pulsating in you body.

When you get to understand that you carry in you the very divine life that Jesus Christ has, you become unstoppable! You become dangerous! Your life becomes different. When you know that the principle and source of all life is at work in you and dwells within you more abundantly, you can no longer be defeated by circumstances! The challenges of life become bread for you!
You are not meant to live a barely-getting-by existence.
You are not meant to live a survival-mode life. You are meant to live in the overflow of divine abundance! You are meant to be so full of the life of Christ that it spills over into every relationship, every situation, every challenge you face as a victor! So get up and go and win!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Lord Jesus who has given me His divine life so that we could have and experience His supernatural, abundant divine life today and now flowing in and through me!  I walk in the knowledge and confidence of the fullness of His life flowing in and through every area of my existence today. I thank You Father that because of the eternal life that is in me, rivers of living water flow from within me to bless others in my world, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus came that I might have life abundantly! I have the overflow of the divine life flowing in and through me! I have eternal life within me in a superabundant measure! Rivers of living water flow from within me!  I live in the overflow the very life of Christ Himself! His zōē flows through every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, every cell of my blood, producing only success, fullness and abundance wherever I go!

Jesus Is Life: The Word Of God Is Life

John 5:24
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.”

In our opening verse of scripture, Jesus uses the double emphasis “verily, verily” – which in Greek is “amen, amen” – to emphasize the absolute certainty of what He’s about to declare meaning, that this He is about to say is a guaranteed reality!
So every time you see Jesus say this in the KJV you have to pay very close attention because He is saying that this is of utmost importance, and that this He is going to say now is absolute reality.  So what this means is that whatever Jesus is going to say in follow up to “verily verily” is not something that might happen; this is something that has either already happened, or will definitely when the demands are met; in this case the demand for this is ones hearing His Word and believing on Him that sent Him.
Remember we defined believing before from the Greek word translated to believe which is “to think to be true”.  And in this portion of scripture Jesus says the person that does this “verily verily” or “most assuredly”, “has everlasting life, and shall  not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life”.  Jesus assures that this happens the moment that you believe!

Look at the tenses being used here: “IS passed from death unto life”.  The Greek tense here indicates a completed action – you have already passed, you have already crossed over! “IS passed!”
This isn’t talking about something that will happen when you die physically; this is talking about something that happened the moment you believed! You have already passed from the realm of death into the realm of life! Haha! Nobody has ever spoke with such surety about these things like Jesus did.

μεταβαίνω metabainō passed – to go over, pass over, remove from one place to place into another

But here’s where it gets incredible: remember that Jesus IS life. So when He says you have passed from death unto life, He’s saying you have crossed over from the realm where Jesus is absent to the realm where Jesus is present and dwelling within you! Hey! Jesus is dwelling with me presently! I am never alone!  Even if you look around me and think that I am alone, you are mistaken, I am never alone! Jesus is always present with me!

This means that the moment I believe, I don’t just receive the gift of eternal life – I receive the Person who IS life, my eternal companion, for this life and for the life hereafter! I don’t just get forgiveness of sins – you get a new spirit with a new life, Jesus Himself taking up residence in me through the Holy Spirit! I am not alone! I have Jesus with me. I didn’t just get a ticket to heaven – I have heaven’s Life-Giver living within me right now!

ζωή zōē life – divine life, the life that Jesus IS, unending life

Remember what we said in the previous articles how the word for life that Jesus said He gives us is zōē – and it’s the same word Jesus used when He said “I am the way, the truth and the life.”  So this is not bios – biological life or psuchē – soul life(mind, will, emotions) – this is zōē, the divine life, the God-kind of life, the very life that Jesus has and the very life that Jesus IS!  So, when you believed in Him, He says that you received zōē! You received the life that belongs to God! That life of God – aionios zōē – eternal life! You received the life that Jesus Himself possesses! You have in you right now!

This is why Jesus could say with such confidence that whoever believes “shall not come into condemnation.” How can there be condemnation when you possess the life of Jesus Himself dwelling within you? How can there be judgment when the Judge has taken up residence in your spirit? How can there be death when the Resurrection and the Life is living within you? You see, how those “judgement begins in the house of God” preachers don’t understand?  Because they do not understand who Jesus said they are; they do not understand their identity in Christ; but they think they do.  So they about preaching doom gloom and judgement to the children of God. They just don’t understand but one day they will. So don’t mind them –  focus on what Jesus said and you’ll be alright.

Notice something more; Jesus also didn’t say “will have” everlasting life – He said “hath” everlasting life! Present tense! That means that you have everlasting life now! This everlasting life is not something you’re waiting to receive when you die – it’s something you possess right now!
1 John 5:11-12 says “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” Do you see it? This life IS in the Son – Jesus Christ, and if you have the Son, you have the life – zōē!
Aionios zōē! Eternal life!

Heavenly Father, I thank You that the moment I believed, I passed from death unto life  Thank You Father that I have pulsating in me the Person who IS life Jesus Christ through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit dwelling within me right now. I thank You that I have already crossed over from the realm of death into the realm of divine life, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Speak The Word

I have passed from death unto life! I have crossed over from the realm where Jesus is absent to the realm where Jesus dwells within me! I have everlasting life in my spirit! I possess zōē – the divine life, the God-kind of life – right now! There is no condemnation for me because Jesus by the Holy Spirit dwells within me! I have eternal life – I have it now because I have Jesus, and Jesus IS my life!

Jesus Is Life: The Author & Giver Of Life

John 10:28
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

Jesus declares here with absolute authority: “I give unto them eternal life”.  But remember what we’ve learned – Jesus IS life! So when He says “I give unto them eternal life”, He’s actually saying “I give unto them Myself!”  Now, the eternal life He gives is not separate from who He is – the eternal life He gives IS who He is! Therefore if you have eternal life, then you have Jesus.

This is the truth that changes everything: you don’t just receive eternal life from Jesus – you receive the person of Jesus Himself, who IS eternal life dwelling within you because the gift of eternal life and the Giver are one!

αἰώνιος aiōnios eternal – eternal, everlasting, without beginning or end, that which always has been and always will be

And then He makes this incredible statement: “they shall never perish”.  Why can Jesus make such an absolute guarantee to us? Jesus can make this guarantee because He IS life and the Author of it! How can eternal life perish? How can the Source of all existence cease to exist? It’s impossible! And since He IS your life, and He dwells within you, how can you perish? You cannot perish because you carry the One who cannot perish! John 3:16 He says “…whosoever believes in Him SHOULD NOT PERISH but have aionios zoe”! This is a law. You are exempt from perishing if you have aionios zoe.

Our opening verse goes further and says:

“Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand”.  What kind of security is this? What kind of protection? It’s the security of being held by creator, originator and sustainer of Life Himself! It’s the protection of being in the grasp of the One who IS the source of all existence! No force in heaven, earth, or hell can separate you from Jesus! He is life!

This is why science has been unable to control life. This is why technology cannot manufacture life. This is why human wisdom cannot capture life. They’re dealing with Jesus – the eternal, uncreated, self-existing Life of God! You cannot manipulate the One who spoke the universe into existence! You cannot control the One who holds all things together by the Word of His power!

And here’s what this means for you: since Jesus, who IS eternal life, dwells within you, there is no expiration date on your divine purpose! There is no limitation on your God-given potential! There is no ceiling on what God can do through your life because you carry the very essence of aionios zoe – eternal life Himself!

διδωμι didōmi give – to give, to grant, to supply, to furnish

The eternal life that you have of Him is not just life that lasts forever – it’s His own eternal, uncreated, self-sustaining life! It’s the very life that existed before time began and will continue after time ends! This is the life that now pulsates within your spirit! Think deeply about this for a moment; don’t rush over this.

Because when you truly grasp this truth, you realize that every limitation you’ve accepted, every defeat you’ve tolerated, every insufficiency you’ve accommodated is completely contradictory to the nature of the One who lives within you. You carry Eternal Life Himself! You carry the One who gives life and has the power to sustain all life! Do you understand what that means?

The same Jesus who said “I am the resurrection and the life” is the same Jesus who now lives within you. The same power that defied death and conquered the grave is the same power – no, the same Person – who now dwells in your spirit! You are blessed; you are blessed!!

Pray The Word
Heavenly Father, I thank You that Jesus gives me eternal life, and that eternal life IS Jesus Himself dwelling within me. Thank You that I shall never perish and am exempt from perishing because I carry the One who cannot perish. No man can pluck me from His hand because I am held by the Source of all life! I carry eternal, uncreated, self-sustaining life within me. Every limitation must bow to the Eternal Life I carry – Jesus Christ!

Jesus Is Life: He Who Has The Son Has Life

1 John 5:11-13
“And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

The book of 1 John reveals to us one of the most extraordinary truths about life that has ever been revealed: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” Do you see what this is saying? Life is not something that exists independently and then Jesus gives it to you. No! JESUS is life! The life that God gives us is not separate from His Son – the life IS His Son – JESUS IS LIFE!

When you have Jesus, you don’t just receive life from Him – what you receive is Him and in Him life IS! When the scripture says “he that hath the Son hath life,” it’s not saying if you have the Son plus if you have life. It’s saying that having the Son means having life because the Son – Jesus IS life! This is mind-blowing when you really get it!

αἰώνιος aiōnios eternal – eternal, everlasting, without beginning or end, that which always has been and always will be.

This is why Jesus could declare with such absolute authority: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish” (John 10:28). This is life talking! He’s not reaching into some heavenly storehouse to hand out portions of life. No, Jesus IS the very life He’s giving! When He gives eternal life, He’s giving Himself!
Now you can understand what Jesus meant when He said ”I AM the vine, you are the branches”.  The vine and the branches have the same life!
Understanding your identity is very important; when you understand this stuff you will not go around preaching judgement and condemnation to God’s people. Rather you go about teaching them who they truly are.

Man in all his attempts to isolate and control life will never be able to, simply because life is not a force of living, life is not an experience of existence, life is a person – and His name is Jesus. Scientists can study biological processes, they can understand cellular functions, they can even manipulate genetic codes, but they cannot create life because life cannot be manufactured – life can only be imparted by the One who IS life!

And here’s what this means for you practically: every area of your life that seems dead, every dream that appears lifeless, every situation that looks hopeless – you have the answer dwelling within you! You don’t need to search for life, you don’t need to strive for vitality, you don’t need to work to generate energy or motivation. You carry life Himself! Jesus is the resurrection and the life!

Is your business struggling? Speak to it with the authority of one who carries aionios zoe – eternal life! Are your relationships strained? Minister life into them from the life of God that dwells within you! Are you facing health challenges? Remember that the One who IS life lives in your spirit, soul and body and that life cannot be contained or limited by physical ailments and circumstances!

This is why the scripture says “that ye may know that ye have aionios zoe – eternal life.” Not that you will have it someday, not that you’re working toward it – “that ye may know that ye have aionios zoe” NOW.  You HAVE it now! And this eternal life is not just duration without end – it’s the quality, superiority, nature, and the very essence of God Almighty living within you! The life is superabundant in quantity and superior in quality!

You see, when you truly understand that Jesus IS life, and that He dwells within you through the Holy Spirit, it becomes impossible to live defeated, discouraged, or depressed. How can you be lifeless when aionios zoe is in you? How can you ever think defeat or hopelessness or be powerless when the very source of all power and vitality is pulsating in your spirit? From today, activate the divinity that is in you through speaking in tongues and meditating on the scriptures about eternal life; and experience eternal life saturate and permeate your entire being.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me eternal life, and I thank You that this life is Your Son Jesus Christ Himself. Thank You that I don’t just have access to life – I have Life Himself dwelling within me. Thank You for the assurance that because I have the Son, I have life – not just existence, but His very life as my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.

I have the Son, therefore I have life! Not just any life, but eternal life – the very life of Jesus Christ Himself! Life is not something I’m striving for – Life is Someone I carry within me. Jesus, who IS life, is my life! Every dead situation in my path must respond to the Life I carry. I speak life because I have Life Himself – Jesus Christ – dwelling within me!

Jesus Is Life: Eternal Life Creates

Colossians 1:16-17
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Our opening scripture, Colossians chapter 1 says that all things were created by Him and for Him. The Him that this verse contextually is referring to is Jesus Christ; He is life – He – Jesus is the Creator and Source of it all! When we get this understanding, that Jesus IS life, the opening passage now elevates the implications of who Jesus truly is into another dimension.

The revelation that He is the One that created all things – and that He is life, meaning that He is the sustaining principle behind every living thing transforms your relationship with Him! It transforms and solidifies further your faith and trust in Him

Lets look at this carefully, it says “by him all things consist.”  Wow! Now the Greek word for “consist” is synistemi, which means to hold together, to sustain, to maintain existence. This means that right now, at this very moment, every living thing in creation has life and exists being sustained and held together by Jesus! And then it goes on to say “whether it be visible or invisible…principalities, powers and dominions”. That means even all the spiritual beings in the spiritual world with spiritual life; both angels and demons, heyyy!!! Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the reason and purpose for being for all things.

συνίστημι synistemi consist – to hold together, to sustain, to maintain existence, to continue

Whether it is animal life, human life, plant life, sea life, spiritual life all the different kinds of life – Jesus said that He is the source and principle behind every living thing; meaning that He is life for all.
This means that all things, visible and invisible live and exist because of Him. Every creature that moves, every plant that grows, every cell that divides, every heart that beats, every angel, every demon, Jesus Christ created and sustains it all. This is who Jesus is!

Now think about this incredible truth: scientists can study life, they can describe biological processes, they can understand how systems work, but they cannot create life from nothing. They cannot take lifeless matter and breathe life into it. Why? Because life is not a chemical reaction, life is not a biological process – life is a Person, and His name is Jesus!

This is why when God breathed into Adam the breath of life, Adam became a living soul. The substance and the essence of the breath and the breather is Jesus – the life imparting Himself into the lifeless clay that became Adam.  And now also, through the gospel, being born again, that same life – Jesus – is now imparted into your human spirit making you a new creature! (2 Corinthians 5:17)  You are no longer just alive as a living soul; you are now made alive with the resurrection life of Jesus Christ in your human spirit!

Now, here’s where this gets absolutely incredible for your daily living: if Jesus, the life, is dwelling within you, then sickness, disease, depression, and death have no legitimate claim over you! Why? Because you’re no longer operating from mere human life – you’re operating from the resurrection life of Jesus! You’re not subject to the limitations of biological life anymore – you’re connected to the resurrection, eternal, supernatural, inexhaustible life of Jesus Christ!

κτίζω ktizō created – to create, to make, to form, to bring into existence

This means that every challenge you face, every obstacle in your path, every seemingly impossible situation – it all bows to the One who IS the life dwelling within you! Sickness cannot stay in a body that houses aionios zoe – eternal life – the life! Depression cannot remain in a mind connected to the life – eternal life. Poverty cannot persist in the life of one who carries aionios zoe!  If your life looks dark, stagnant and hopeless don’t panic; you now have in you the essence and the power to recreate your life.

Are you beginning to see who you are? Are you beginning to understand what you carry? You don’t just have life – you have aionios zoe – eternal life! You don’t just have access to life – you carry the Source of life within your spirit! This changes everything about how you approach every day, every challenge, every opportunity! You are not ordinary!  The day you received Jesus Christ, you seized to be ordinary.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the revelation that Jesus, who IS life, is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Thank You that He dwells within me, not just as my Savior, but as my life. I thank You for giving me eternal life in Christ, I am not subject to the limitations of mere human existence, in Jesus name, amen.

Christ IS my life, He dwells within me! I am not just alive – I am alive with the life of Christ! By Him all things were created, and by Him all things consist – including my life! Every cell in my body is sustained by eternal life. I operate from this unlimited, eternal, supernatural life within me. All things live because of Christ, and I live because Christ IS my life!

Jesus Is Life: Life And Incorruption

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality incorruption to light through the gospel:

Beyond abolishing death, the first appearing of Jesus Christ brought something else magnificent to light: life and incorruption! The King James Version translates ‘aphtharsia’ as ‘immortality,’ but the accurate translation is ‘incorruption’. Aphtharsia is not immortality, aphtharsia is incorruption and there’s a difference between the two.  You receive life – zoe and incorruption – aphtharsia when you hear the Gospel, receive it, believe it and you are born again and instantly brought into eternal life! You human spirit is now connected or in union with God. With the new birth you were brought into the realm of incorruption! Corruption is when the human spirit is separated and disconnected from God. This is called spiritual death.

ἀφθαρσία  aphtharsia  incorruption (immortality) – incorruptibility, unending existence

 Incorruption is what addresses the issue of spiritual death and the corruption of the human spirit; whilst immortality addresses the issue of physical death and the corruption of the physical body.  Incorruption is that state when the human spirit is brought back to life from spiritual death with the life of God through “being born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the word of God.” (1 Peter 1:23). This regeneration of the human spirit from spiritual death to eternal life also has an impact on the soul and the physical body which also overpowers the effects of mortality causing both the spirit, soul and body to transform and become incorruptible. 

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The key thing that the word in the scripture above tells us here is that corruption and incorruption is dealing with the spirit/soul and its destination and what should happen to it in that realm of the spirit world; i.e. is the spirit dead – meaning is the spirit separated from God?  This state of being spiritually dead condemns that spirit to hell which is what is described in the word as corruption.  Or is the spirit born again – united and alive unto God? This connects that human spirit to the living God who is in heaven for a life with God in heaven which is what is described in the word as incorruption. That is the state that every born again child of God is currently living in – incorruption.

So, clearly we have not obtained immortality yet; but in order for your body to be transformed into immortality at the second appearing of Jesus Christ, your spirit must come out of the state of corruption (separation from God) first through the gospel into incorruption and then only can you be changed from incorruption to immortality.  The Apostle Paul describes this process of our salvation in 1 Corinthians 15:53 – 54 and says “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”

When you study Genesis chapter 3 you discover that Adam died two deaths – he died spiritually first and then he died physically years later(Genesis 5:5). Jesus, when He was hanging on the cross also died two deaths.

He died spiritually first when He cried out “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” (Matthew 27:46) He was made sin and God the Spirit separated Himself from Jesus.  Only then would it be possible for Him to die physically, and shortly after at His own will He gave up His own life to physical death.  Now incorruption and immortality together deal with both these issues in that order – incorruption to deal with spiritual death through the gospel and immortality to deal with physical death at the second appearing of Jesus Christ; you get it now? Great!

The Word of God says “being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” (1 Peter 1:23).  Corruptible seed has to do with a life that is spiritually dead – meaning separated from God. Everyone born into this world from the seed of a man is born of corruptible seed, therefore born into corruption – separated from God. And to correct that our opening scripture says that through the gospel we can receive eternal life and incorruption being born again of incorruptible seed.

So we’ve learnt that incorruption has to do with a life of oneness with Him being connected to God and alive unto Him through being born again.  And as a born again child of God right now at this very moment you have incorruption at work in you my brother! You have incorruption at work in you my sister! Hallelujah!

 It means that your physical body through the eternal life and incorruption that is now in your human spirit, though it is mortal, is now receiving life from the Spirit of God divine, making it resistant to sickness, disease, decay and every corrupting effect of sin and all the destructive elements of this world! Glory to God! Live everyday in the consciousness of this and enjoy the benefits of aphtharsia – incorruption.

Heavenly Father, thank You that through the Gospel and the appearing of Jesus Christ, You have brought life and incorruption to light. I rejoice that Your divine life now mingles with my mortal body, making me incorruptible by Your living Word.
