Prayers Of The Spirit: Clothed With Divine Glory

Study The Word

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (Amplified)
With this in view, we constantly pray for you, that our God may deem and count you worthy of your calling and His every gracious purpose of goodness, and with power may complete in your every particular work of faith… Thus may the name of the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and become more glorious through and in you, and may you also be glorified in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today we look into another prayer of the Holy Spirit put together for us and it is for God to count us worthy of our calling and also to fulfill or to perform in us His gracious  purpose of goodness and complete the working of our faith with His power! Glory! How incredible is that? And it doesn’t stop there, then it goes on to say, “and may you also be glorified in Him.” You! Glorified! In Him! Wow, “I’m glorified in Him!”
Now, I know there are some religious folks out there, and they’ll say, “Yeah, all the glory belongs to God alone. The glory is for the Lord alone. Glory is only for God.” And yes, that is true—God is worthy of all glory! But what about this? What is the Word actually saying here? The Word of God is declaring that it is also God’s will for YOU to be glorified in Him. Haha! How about that for your religious mentality?

ἐνδοξάζω endoxazō glorified – to adorn with glory, clothe with splendor, decorate, enhance with magnificence, invest with honour and dignity

Think about this: that Greek word “glorified” is endoxazō, which comes from the root word doxa, meaning glory. But endoxazō specifically means to adorn with glory, to clothe you with glory! God wants you to be clothed with His glory! It means to be decorated, to be enhanced with splendor, with honor, with magnificence—with God’s divine magnificence! Do you hear what the Spirit is saying?

This is God’s will for your life! So what does it mean? What it means is, as you begin to go about fulfilling work with His faith, the power of God will be expressed in and through you, God will be glorified and you also will be clothed with His glory. That is simply what the prayer point of the Spirit is saying. God wants you to also be glorified as He is being glorified in your life. He also wants you to be glorified. Hey yaaa!! That is too big for the religious Christianity that keeps saying, “The glory belongs to God alone, the glory belongs to God alone.” Yes, it does! But God also says, “I want you, My son. I want you, My child. I want you, My daughter, to be glorified in Me.”

δόξα doxa glory – splendor, brightness, magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, honor, praise, worship

God’s purpose and plan—His desire—is for you to be glorified in Him.  So as you’re going about doing the work of God, and God is being glorified in you, He says He also wants that glory to be in you and you to be glorified in Him.  Isn’t that beautiful? God is such a giver; He wants to share His glory with us. He doesn’t want to receive the glory alone, hahaa! Many Christians don’t like to hear this, but it’s in the scripture, it’s in the written Word. That is what the word says!

The Message translation puts it this way: “If your life honors the name of Jesus, He will honor you.”
If your life honours Jesus Christ, He will honour you! You can’t change that, it will happen whether you want it or not because no one can out give God. So even if you cry sincerely in your fake humility saying “Lord I don’t want any of Your glory”, He will still glorify you! You can’t change it; God will never change His Word for you or for anyone, not even Himself.  So get over it child of God—this is the Word of God and it is already written and settled in heaven! You will share in His glory, hallelujah! This is the revealed will of your Heavenly Father for your life! So expect it and never shy away from it. This is not arrogance!

You see, God is not like some earthly master who wants all the recognition while keeping his servants in the shadows. No! Your Father says, “As you walk in your calling, as you express faith, as My power works through you—I am going to clothe you with My very own glory!” You will be decorated with divine magnificence. You will be enhanced with splendour that comes from the grace and glory of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

χάρις charis grace – favor, blessing, goodwill, divine influence upon the heart, benefit, gift freely given

And did you notice how it says this glorification comes “according to the grace of our God.” It’s not something you earn! It’s not something you work up! It’s a gift! It’s the charis—the divine favor, the blessing, the goodwill of God freely given to you as you walk in your calling, fulfilling your purpose.

So let this truth sink deep into your spirit today: God’s plan is not just for Him to be glorified through you—His plan is for you also to be adorned, decorated, and clothed with His divine splendor, His magnificence, His honour! You are not just a vessel; you are a vessel that He delights to beautify with His very own glory! Hallelujah! Oh, you’ve got to love the Word of God!

Pray The Word

Heavenly Father, I thank You for this revelation that challenges every religious limitation in my thinking. Thank You that it is Your will not only to be glorified in me but also to glorify me in You. I receive this truth today—that as I walk in my calling and express my faith, You are adorning me, decorating me, and clothing me with Your divine splendor, magnificence, and honour according to Your grace and the Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Speak The Word

I am being glorified in Christ according to God’s purpose and plan for my life! As I honour the name of Jesus, He honours me with His divine glory. I am adorned and decorated with divine splendor, divine magnificence, and divine honor as I fulfill my calling. I am clothed with the very glory of God—not by my works, but according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ!
