The Purpose & Power Of Writing: Faith In His Name

Study The Word

John 14:13-14
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

Acts 3:6
“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Acts 3:16
“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

As we’ve been looking at “The Purpose and Power of Writing,” and after our deep dive yesterday into what the Word says about faith, we’ve been able to see how writing, as a spiritual principle, works with other principles—faith and now the name of Yeshua (Jesus). As we continue to progress, I’d like to introduce another dimension of faith: faith in His name! Let’s look at how it works, see how we can take advantage of it, and begin to apply it together with the principle of writing.

As we’ve discovered, there is no other way, no other law, no other principle that will bring about the changes you desire. You cannot pray it into existence without faith and the name of Jesus; you cannot fast it into existence without faith and the name of Jesus; and you certainly cannot work hard enough to make it happen without faith and the name of Jesus Christ. So, stop looking for another way, another quick fix, and come to the understanding that faith and the name of Jesus are the only principles that change things.

The Lord Jesus is the one who introduced the principle of faith in His name, as we can see in our opening scripture. The one thing that stands out is the technicality of how it works. Notice the distinction: Peter didn’t just say, “Believe in the name of Jesus.” He said a miracle happened “through faith in his name”—through pistis in His name. And we learned yesterday that pistis is vocalized persuasion. In that regard, what, then, is faith in His name?

The Apostle Peter clearly shows us the application in his working of this miracle in Acts 3:6, when the Bible says he said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!” The Bible tells us that “Peter said.” See, Peter was there when the Lord Jesus taught His popular teaching on miracles in John chapter 14; the Apostle Peter was right there. His demonstration of the teaching in Acts chapter 3 gives us a clear testimony of what “faith in His name” is.

Faith in His name is speaking it in demand on its power for a desired outcome or result! That is what the Lord Jesus Christ said you must do. This is a demonstration; it goes beyond just believing in the name—it’s declaring with your mouth the name of the Lord Jesus in expectation of a divine intervention, miracle, or result. I know what some Christians who are uneducated in the spiritual realm will say: “My man of God just stretches his hand, or he just says you are healed or get up, and the miracle happens! Hahaha!” Yes, I do it, too. Why? Because I would have already said and declared the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in my closet, in my preparation, before I arrived on the scene to face the need.

That is what all your men of God do! Spoiler alert! Let me explain this to you: there is no time or distance in the realm of the spirit. If you understand spiritual things, you’d know that things happen in the spirit first before they happen physically. So, taking this and using it to my advantage, I know and understand that whatever I declare in the realm of the spirit during my preparation will be as effective and active as if I’m saying “the name of Jesus” in real time. I would have said it before the time I’m face to face with the need. At that time, I don’t need to say “in the name of Jesus” again, because I said it before I came. Ayayaaaa!  An example of this is found in Acts 4 when you study from verse 24 to 33; where the Apostle’s in their preparation closet prayed in one accord and said, “…And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,  30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.”
After this the Bible says in verse 33, “…And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
When did they make a vocalized demand on the name of Jesus, putting the principle of Faith In his Name to work? It was during their time of prayer and preparation. So after this they didn’t necessarily have to go about declaring “In the name Jesus” again because they had already done it.  Now they just went about “with great power” giving “witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.”
This is the working of “Faith In His Name”.

I wish you’d understand this stuff. This is the stuff your men of God won’t disclose to you, haha, so that they can maintain that element of wonder, but the principle is the same: “faith in His name!” Nothing more, nothing less.

So, what this scripture is showing us on how this works is that, in your declaration of faith, you have to add the name of Jesus to it. This is what is called the working of miracles! God used the name of Jesus to create the universe, and that is why it always works, and you should also expect it to always work.

Now here’s where it gets absolutely insane, and now you can understand why: Jesus said, “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do… If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Jesus made it impossible to fail! What boldness, what confidence, what assurance! He said “whatsoever,” “anything,” “whatsoever,” “anything”—come on, someone or something is lying and something’s got to give—there are no exceptions!

But notice this isn’t even prayer—this is the working of miracles. When you employ the name of Jesus Christ into your declarations of faith, that is now the working of miracles. And get this—even the Father has been using the name of Jesus to execute the most crucial miracles that we are still using and are beneficiaries of even today! John 14:26 says, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name.
This means that in one of His most important assignments, God sent the Holy Spirit to us in the name of Jesus! Think about that! If even the Father uses this name in one of His most important assignments, then using the name of Jesus should not and cannot fail!

“At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow”—that includes money, that includes situations, that includes problems, that includes sickness. Everything in the entire universe has been commanded to respond and to bow at that name. It’s a law! It’s a principle! “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”—and that word “saved” means deliverance in every area of existence.

You need to meditate on this name. Everything responds to the name of Jesus Christ. There is authority because of His rank as Lord Jesus Christ. But with that authority, there’s also creative, miracle-working power—spiritual, divine energy and power that is creative and explosive. Study Acts chapter 3 verse 6 carefully and see the application of faith in His name.  Do not try and reinvent anything; just take it as it is and begin to employ in the same way regarding the things you have created in writing, and begin to use it daily and watch your life become miraculous.

Pray The Word
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the mighty name of Jesus Christ and the revelation that I am in His name and His name is in me. I thank You that even You used the name of Jesus to send the Holy Spirit. Help me to live in the consciousness of being in this name and to operate in faith in His name for every situation I face, knowing that everything must bow to this name, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Speak The Word
I am in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is in me! I operate by faith in His name! At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow—including every challenge, every problem, every circumstance in my life. I don’t need money to solve financial problems—I direct the name of Jesus to my challenges and the money bows to that demand! Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and I call upon His name with authority and power!
