There are foundational spiritual principles that govern our existence, whether we recognize them or not, believe them or not, or understand them or not. People’s ignorance of spiritual truths doesn’t negate their reality, their efficacy, or the consequences that come as a result of their ignorance. So, a principle that the Word of God instituted, which has not been extensively taught, understood, or maybe even known, does not negate its reality and efficacy. One of those principles that I saw revealed so extensively but never really taught on, and that is integral to our faith, is writing. I myself never thought much of it until the Spirit of God opened it up to me, and my faith was upgraded.
כּתב kâthab write – to write, inscribe, engrave, describe, write in, write on, write down
Most ministers focused and started with “faith comes by hearing,” but the Spirit of God says, “What’s the source of what you’re hearing? How is it communicated and transferred? What is the technology by which faith, as a spiritual virtue, is going to be transmitted? And how is it that it’s there, and how is it that faith would be able to come from there?” The answer to that is writing. Before it can get to a place where it can even be preached to be heard, it needs to be established in writing. And most importantly, what is the connection between words written in a book and spirits in this spiritual kingdom? How is it that through these words we can connect to a spirit being—God, the Supreme Spirit Being—and relate with spiritual things?
God, as the Supreme Spirit Being, instituted writing as a medium for:
- The establishment of spiritual things (concerning design and the expression of creativity and creation) and the establishment of His laws and principles.
- The transfer, or transmission, and communication of the said spiritual things, laws, and principles.
And when Moses, having been raised in Pharaoh’s house (by divine intention) and trained and “…was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians” (Acts 7:22). Ancient Egypt had already been blessed by God and had developed the gifting of advanced knowledge and sophisticated systems of writing, including hieroglyphics and hieratic scripts, by the time Moses grew up there. This is the reason God would be able to use this technology to establish His kingdom on Earth but also use the spirituality of writing to transfer spiritual knowledge from the spirit into the realms of men.
That is how we get to the moment of our opening scripture and “Jehovah – The Lord said to Moses, Write this, a memorial in a book.” And then He says, “and set it in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heavens.” Wow! That word construction translated as “set it” in the Hebrew is “rehearse it.” So God said to Moses, “rehearse it in the ears of Joshua,” khayaaa! Now here we witness Jehovah, the Lord who is the Supreme Spirit Being—God Almighty—giving a spiritual instruction, transferring and establishing divine authority and expressed dominion and rule on Earth over other spirit beings—Amalek—and it is to be established and executed through the principle of writing.
γράφω graphō write – engrave, describe, write
I’m sure you are getting the picture of how this works. And throughout the scripture from Exodus all the way to Revelation, I will show you the spirituality of writing, its purpose and use cases in the realm of spirits, how spirits work and function with writing, and how God used or uses it. We’ll also look into what the scriptures reveal about the results that He got from it, and most importantly, how we as God’s children, in our being “imitators of God as dear children,” must and should employ and take advantage of the same principle in our lives.
Along with writing, we will also look at its relation to faith and the Name of Jesus. These three—writing, faith, and the Name of Jesus—are all spiritual principles. These principles are intentional and technical. What does “technical” mean when I say they are technical principles? It means they are defined, step-by-step processes. It’s like a recipe or a formula: if you take one step, you get there, and then you take the next and the next. These are not just things to intellectualize; they are things you practice. You keep putting them to work, constantly, consistently, repeatedly.
Why do these principles work so consistently? Because God Himself uses them. They were and are established by God. And everything that God does or has ever done works. We see throughout the Bible that God used these very principles in the establishment of His kingdom not only on Earth but primarily in heaven and then also on Earth. If you master these three—writing, faith, and the Name of Jesus—if you truly learn them, understand them, and then begin to practice them, putting them to work in your daily life, your life will transform so dramatically that people won’t even recognize you. And the most exciting part is, it won’t take long! These are divinely established, technical keys to unlocking a life of profound purpose and supernatural power. They are laws that work without fail, and anyone who puts them to work will get a result. When I discovered them, especially writing, and began to apply it, my life stopped being random; things in my life became structured and intentional and by design. Nothing is by accident; everything that happens is controlled and by design and is intentional. That’s because of the application of these principles and seeing them produce results.
λόγος logos word – a word, utterance, divine expression, account, communication, doctrine, intent, preaching
That foundation will now take us to the Word:
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
So, when we talk about “the Word” in John 1:1, it’s crucial to grasp the depth of what is being communicated. The original Greek word used here is logos. And what does logos specifically refer to? It refers to the written word. The Word in written form is the logos of God.
You see, in the Bible, when it talks about “word,” sometimes it’s logos (the written, established Word) and sometimes it’s rhema (the spoken, living, activated Word). For example, Hebrews 11:3 says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The phrase word of God is “rhema” and not “logos”. Until you meticulously study the original Greek or Hebrew, you won’t fully grasp the depth and nuanced meaning of what God is truly communicating. This is why it is eternally valuable to delve into the original language where in this case John chapter 1 the term “the Word” is the Greek – logos.
“Shingi, how do you know? Who told you that in John chapter 1 ‘logos‘ is referring to the written Word?” Well, because the book itself says it, glory to God! Haha.
The challenge with a lot of Christians is that they do not give enough attention to studying the Word. So people tell them all kinds of stories, and they believe them.
Now, when you study the Word, you’ll discover that scriptures define scriptures. The Word of God explains itself. And it is important as a minister or scholar of God’s Word to let it tell you what it means, because God ensured that it would be so. I’ll show you with this example of the phrase “the word“—logos in John Chapter 1.
Now, John starts off by saying, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” 2 “The same was in the beginning with God.” 3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” 4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” 5 “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not …” 14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Great, the challenge now is, that verse 14 is where a lot of your preachers stopped at. You never took time to go and study the entire context. So you probably never saw the rest of what John said about this “word” that was God and was in the beginning with God. Because immediately he disclosed it in John 1:44 and it says, “Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.” 45 “Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 “And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.”
Incredible! You see, these things excite me about the Word of God, haha! There is so much in the Word of God. I’m always amazed how a lot of preachers have time to use pulpits to talk about things that don’t matter when there’s so much revelation in the Word of God. There’s just too much in the Word, thank You Jesus.
He says, “we have found Him of who Moses in law, and the prophets, did write.”
Okay, “did write?” What do you mean “did write?” Why not say “did speak” or “did prophesy“? That would’ve been great, but he says “did write!” Why? Because contextually, the scriptures are showing us that “the word – the logos” that was in the beginning with God, that made all things, that is the light of men, that became flesh and dwelt amongst us, is the written word “of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
Now you can understand the spirituality of writing! Writing is spiritual! Look at how God Almighty would have it that before Jesus could be born, He had Moses, in the law and in the prophets, would have to write of Him first! Oh, wow! This changed my life. The Lord Jesus Himself couldn’t just be born. God had to employ the principle of writing to bring Him into the world—all the way from His bosom, and then revealed to Moses and the prophets and they are instructed to write it, write it, write; throughout the generations until He is born and “the Word became flesh.” The written Word became a human, in this physical – transferred from the spirit realm of Heaven by God. So clearly we see how God used writing, and the results that He got from it. And now it being established as a spiritual principle now means that when employed it will always work. Now, how are you going to use this to transform your life? Those dreams, that vision, that prophecy, that life, that career, that business that is a constant in your heart; that level that you want to operate at? What are you going to do with this? How exciting! Now you can do something.
This is how you will get the understanding of how “logos,” the written Word, is central to understanding even creation itself. So the context also reveals to us that when He said “All things were made by Him,” He is also referring to the Written Word. Why this construction? That’s because he is referring to the designing aspect of writing that has to do with what we would now call drawing, illustration into its animation. The writing expressing creation unto its animation. This reveals a fundamental principle of divine creation: that is what I mean when I say God designed everything in writing first. It didn’t just appear out of thin air without a prior blueprint or design. There was a design, an imagining process, a detailed blueprint of what things should be like, and that design was explicitly expressed in writing. The very act of creation involved this writing. God’s profound imagination and infinite creative ability were expressed in this writing to bring things into existence. That is what John was trying to communicate. This is a spiritual principle, a law, that works without fail. Anyone who puts it to work will get a result. This is how the entire world was created, and even so now you, having been created in His image and likeness, you can also create and design your own life and future using this principle.
