The Purpose & Power Of Writing: The Spiritual Law of the Name of Jesus
Study The Word
Genesis 49:18
I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord.
Exodus 14:13
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
Exodus 15:2 – 3
The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
There is a spiritual principle that has been taught and known to us as a name, but in essence the teaching of the scriptures reveal to us that it is actually more than a name; but rather a spiritual law that God enacted as a law which if applied would deliver the totality of all His intent towards everyone and towards everything in existence; and that law was titled: Yehôshûa‛. The Greek spelling is Iesous Ἰησοῦς, from which, through the Latin Iesus, we get the English spelling Jesus. In Aramaic it is shortened to Yeshûa‛. The Aramaic writing of “Yeshua” is the same as the Hebrew writing, as the Aramaic and Hebrew alphabets used at that time were essentially the same. But they all refer to the same personality. But the name I want you to always have in mind when you hear or see the name Jesus is Yehôshûa‛ or Yeshûa‛ which means: Jehovah is salvation, the Lord is salvation, the Lord saves, salvation is the Lord’s, Jehovah delivers or the Lord is deliverance or God Is Salvation.
You see from scripture that this name, or title or rightly put spiritual law was already what it is, operating with the supreme authority that it has before Jesus the man was born. So it is not the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ that made the name Jesus the name which is above every name like the English of Philippians Chapter 2 suggests; if you do not read it with the context of the entire body of truth that has to do with that name. Before the creation of the world the name already existed as the name which is above every name, with all its authority and power above all creation because that is the name that God named and ordained for Himself, to be named in relation with His relation to creation and the sons and daughters of men.
That is why you see God using the name to deliver Israel throughout the Old Testament before the man Jesus was even born. So what Philippians is saying when it says “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
What the Apostle Paul is saying is that God exalted Him by giving Him this name Yehôshûa‛ because it is the name which is above every name, so that every knee should before the man from Galilee. So it was not the name that was exalted, it was the naming with the highest name that was the exaltation. Oh I wish you’d get it.
יהושׁע Yehôshûa‛ Yeshûa‛ Jehoshua – Jehovah is salvation, the Lord is salvation, the Lord saves, salvation is the Lord’s, Jehovah delivers, the Lord is deliverance, God is salvation
Just in case, so, for example; did you know that in order for the children of Israel to enter into the promise land God, through Moses had to use that same name? Because the man Joshua the son of Nun which is Yehôshûa‛ in Hebrew was not his name. His name was Osea usually spelt Hosea and not Yehôshûa‛- Joshua. When Moses wanted to take the children of Israel into the promise land he selected 12 spies from one each of the 12 tribes of Israel and one of those young men was Oshea, which we all know as Joshua because Moses changed the name of Oshea. So the bible records that when Moses picked Oshea which means salvation, he changed it to Yehôshûa‛ – Joshua.
“These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.” (Numbers 13:16)
Moses had to change his name and renamed him Yehôshûa‛; what was he doing?, employing this law, this principle, which is the name which is above every name. So Moses knew that with the name Yehôshûa‛; Osea the son of Nun would not fail. There will be deliverance by God, there will be salvation by Jehovah! Glory to God! That’s why we can never fail, no never! Not when we understand this stuff! Haha!
And with deep study you will see how every deliverance of the children of Israel throughout the Old Testament reigned by using this name. So when God finally comes in the flesh, He names Himself with that same name Yehôshûa‛, you get it?
Ok, now just based on this simple study you’ll begin to see how this is established as an eternal principle? So it’s more than a name. The principle that embodies and personifies God’s Person, His character such that by this principle from before the beginning throughout generations passed is now established that “…whosever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. (Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13) The scripture now establish it as a spiritual law, a divine principle. When you study our opening scriptures you see Jacob preach about this title, this name, this eternal principle as he calls and says “I wait for Yeshû‛âh, O Jehovah” as he is prophesying to his children. This is the same name, the same principle that Moses calls upon and is placing a demand on as he is standing before the Red Sea and declares “Fear ye not, stand still, and see Yeshû‛âh Jehovah.” (Exodus 14:13)
You know I like it when the Bible and even Lord Jesus were very deliberate when using words like “whosoever” or “whatsoever” it means this principle is for everybody and for anything; it doesn’t matter where you’re from, where you were born, or your social standing. It is for you! It says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And you all know the story of what happened to the Egyptians and afterward Moses in celebration writes a song and begins to sing and celebrate: “Jehovah is my strength and song, and he is become my Yeshû‛âh: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3 Jehovah is a man of war: Jehovah is his name.”(Exodus 15:2 – 3)
ישׁוּעה yeshû‛âh salvation – deliverance, victory, aid, victory, prosperity, help, God’s salvation, save, saving health, welfare.
The angel told Mary and Joseph to name the child Yeshûa‛, because this is the title and or spiritual principle, the name that embodied and personified the character and nature of God Himself—a title that characterized His existence through all generations even before He would be born into this world. This law is seen throughout the generations from the beginning of creation, with which everything visible and invisible must bow: Jehovah Is Salvation – God Is Salvation; and all of creation is subject to it. The Apostle Paul reveals that everything visible and invisible was created and brought into existence by the power and authority of this name. Colossians 1:16 -17 says “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
That’s the reason He would say to the disciples “Whatsoever you shall ask in my name, I will do it,” (John 14:13) It is because everything was created by that name. It’s a law, not a suggestion, it’s a principle and everything and every one can not but submit to it. He later expanded on this, saying, “If you shall ask me anything,” and then also in another teaching “whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you“. This is an unchanging principle. It doesn’t matter what you are facing—what challenge is in front of you, what is going against you—this law stands firm.
Unfortunately, many Christians do not know or understand what the name of Jesus truly means and what and Who it represents. When you understand the name of Jesus and its meaning, who it is for, who it is talking about, you will never struggle again in your life. That will be the end of struggle forever, and ever.
Ἰησοῦς Iēsous Jesus – Jehovah is salvation, the Lord is salvation, the Lord saves, salvation is the Lord’s, Jehovah delivers, the Lord is deliverance, God is salvation
The name of Jesus is the established, eternal spiritual law for salvation. God being the Saviour, and His name—Yeshûa. When you call upon that name, salvation is the result, no matter what it is you’re facing. You’ve also learned that the Hebrew word for salvation is yeshû‛âh and it means – deliverance, victory, aid, victory, prosperity, help, God’s salvation, save, saving health, welfare. What more does it tell us about the name Yeshûa‛ or Jesus? It means that when you call upon the name you are declaring that the Lord God is your deliverance, the Lord is your victory, the Lord is your aid, the Lord is your prosperity, the lord is your help, the Lord God is your salvation; your saving health, and your eternal welfare glory to God! This is a principle that does not fail. Proven throughout all the generations of men. It is one of the three principles that will help you master your life and channel it in the direction that God intended it to go. Learn it, understand it and begin to use it.
