Esther 8:8
Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.
Writing is a divine tool, a divine principle that God Himself instituted from the very beginning.
The Apostle Paul in his divinely inspired writings reveals how the things that were written aforetime were also written for our learning (Romans 15:4). In his letter to Timothy he also reveals how God also employs writing for our benefit when he said “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16 -17) That’s amazing.
Another account that God prepared for us for our learning regarding the purpose and power writing, nowhere do we see this principle on full display in the scriptures than in the book of Esther. There, we see a man named Haman, who, in his pride and hatred for Mordecai and the Jewish people, devises a sinister plot to destroy them all. What does he do? He doesn’t just go and kill them; no, he uses the power and authority of writing! He approaches King Ahasuerus and gets a decree written, signed, and sealed with the king’s signet ring. That decree, that written word, was a death sentence for an entire nation! It was sent out to all the king’s provinces, and the people wept and mourned because a powerful word had been written against them, and sealed.
Think of it this way: Haman’s sinister plan to destroy the Jews first existed as a thought in his wicked mind. But it only became a real, tangible threat when he put it into writing and got it sealed with the king’s ring.
That’s what I always encourage every child of God, to never wait for your fate to be decided upon by the writings of others. Now, the original decree from Haman was a spiritual act of wickedness expressed through writing. It transferred a spirit of fear and mourning to the Jews across the kingdom.
What Haman didn’t know was that the power of this divine principle had been reversed and put to work against him and his agenda. Remember, the purpose of writing is to create a reality from the unseen realm of thought and ideas in the spirit. Now, Haman wrote death and destruction into existence. But our God is a God who reverses the un-reversible. How? By using the same principle again, but this time in your favor! So it doesn’t matter what new laws they are writing in secrecy to oppress; we see from God’s Word that we have the power and authority to have it reversed! Glory to God!
Do you see this? When Esther, at the risk of her life, approaches the king and reveals Haman’s evil plot, the king’s anger is kindled. So what happens? King Ahasuerus gives Esther and Mordecai his signet ring and tells them to write a new decree for the Jews. He tells them, “Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring!” Glory to God! The very same ring and the very same authority that was used to write the death sentence against God’s people was now used to write a new decree of salvation, protection, peace, prosperity and life!
חָתַם chatham seal – to seal, to affix a seal to, to close or authenticate by a seal
The new written word, sealed with the king’s ring, gave the Jewish people the authority to defend themselves and destroy their enemies. And the Bible says, “The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour” (Esther 8:16). Why? Because a new word was written, a new reality was created, and it was sealed with the king’s authority!
What is the implication for your life? The king’s seal represents an un-reversible authority of the one who wrote it. In our case, the Word of God is written for us, in the name of the King of kings, Jesus Christ!
God has given us His seal of authority, the name of Jesus Christ, as a guarantee that no one can reverse the Word He has written concerning us. No demon, no devil, no sickness, no lack, and no plan of the enemy can reverse what has been written concerning you in the name of Yeshua Mashiach the King!
Are you in a situation where the written word of a doctor’s report, a bank statement, a new person in government has brought in evil laws that seems to be now dictating your life and the lives of God’s people negatively? It’s time for you to write a new word! Write a new record! Write a new record! The authority is in your hands, for you have been given the King’s seal—The name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit! Haha!
Don’t just sit by and watch, get up and take action! You have learnt about the purpose and power of writing, put it to work!
When Haman’s decree was sealed with the king’s ring, no one could reverse it. What about you, when you write concerning your destiny a new decree, sealed with the Name of Jesus, the King of all kings? No demon, no sickness, no lack, no plan of the enemy can stand against it!
The Name of Jesus is the King’s Seal of all eternity. It is the final authority. It is the power that brought all things into existence. So, if you want your written vision to be not just a possibility but an absolute certainty, you must combine it with the spoken word of faith and seal it with the Name of Jesus the Christ! Your success is not just likely; it is guaranteed with God’s seal!
Pray The Word
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the profound spiritual principle of writing and the power of Your seal. I thank You that the writings of the prophets and apostles were written for my learning, sealed with the Holy Spirit. I declare that I have been given the King’s seal, and with it, I write a new reality for my life, a new decree for my family, and a new story for my destiny, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I am a creator just like my Father! I live in the consciousness of the fact that I have the King’s seal—the name of Jesus Christ—given to me to reign in this life. The written word I declare and the reality I create is sealed by His authority and cannot be reversed! I write my story; I write my healing; I write my promotion; I write my victory; I write my destiny and new life, and I speak it forth and seal with the King’s seal – The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ!
