Tithe Separates You from Poverty

Study The Word

Mark 8:35 – 37
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
36  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  37  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

As a child of God, why must you give your tithe and your offering? It is to separate you from the darkness of this world’s financial system! When you are born again, you have no reason to suffer. God has given you enough revelation in His Word for a glorious life. If you are suffering, it’s the way you want it; don’t blame God and ask Him, “Why am I suffering like this?” The Bible says, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” It’s your choice!  And remember that God has set out in His Word a financial system with financial principles that you need to learn and apply consistently in order for your enjoy the full benefits of the provisions of His kingdom.

Okay, so you say, “Shingi, why am I suffering like this? Is it because of the government and the country I live in, and God can’t do anything for me here?” Well, yes and no! Yes, the government and the country where you live are partly or directly responsible for what you’re suffering right now, but no—God can definitely do something about it. In fact, He already did! The difference will be what you decide to do with what God has done for you to live a victorious and prosperous life. What are you going to do with your life? In the kingdom of God, you are allowed to start small in anything you do, but never remain small, because to remain small is a choice. The trajectory of God’s kingdom is growth, substantial supernatural growth, and that includes your finances.

מעשׂרה מעשׂר מעשׂר  ma‛ăśêr  ma‛ăśar  ma‛aśrâh  tithe  –  tithe, tenth part

Listen, if you choose to ride a bicycle for the rest of your life, God is with you; and if you choose to drive a car, God is also with you; and if you choose to charter jets, God is equally with you. It’s your choice, but there will always be a consequence of choice and a limit to your influence based on your choices.  Just make sure you choose something, and afterward be happy with your choice.
In life, you can plan your growth in everything, including your finances, and also establish a level of influence on the world around you; it’s up to you. Prosperity is multifaceted; it goes beyond just money. There are many poor people with a lot of money, and many rich people with some or little to no money. True prosperity is beyond this and encompasses a lot more.  But always make sure that you choose prosperity.

Some people’s perspective can only see today, some others can only see this week, and then there are those that see only this month, and then the year, five years, ten, and just this lifetime, and so on. They can’t tell you about the life hereafter because their perspective is limited. And then there are those of us whose perspective was enlightened by Jesus Christ, who see in the realm of eternity. We see and make decisions based not on today, next month, or next year, but both in the life that now is and in the life that is to come. Only Jesus gave to man the certainty of life beyond death and also proved it with His resurrection from the dead; nobody else.

That’s the perspective of prosperity that Jesus unveiled to us. True prosperity involves a number of things: it involves salvation in Christ Jesus and a living relationship with the only true God first—that’s spiritual. And then after that, you have the realm of prosperity that has to do with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding—that’s prosperity of your soul. And then you have prosperity that has to do with the physical, which is your physical body, and then prosperity that has to do with physical substance and financial prosperity. If math means anything, then that’s four parts to make the whole. Finances are just a quarter of the whole, but they are also very important, just as important as the other three.

ἀποδεκατόω  apodekatoō  tithe  –  to give a tenth

But it is not more important than the other parts, as the devil would like to deceive the world into believing. Hence the Lord Jesus would say, “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” And then he said, “Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” What is he interrogating? He’s saying what good is it if every aspect of what could be deemed or viewed as “prosperity,” considering every aspect of it, what is the value of having just the one without the others?

You have to make a choice! Proverbs 9:10 tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” This is the foundation of true wisdom. How truly prosperous is that guy who has all this money but has no fear of God? To think that’s enough is the pinnacle of stupidity! And yet the world is filled with these people being idolized every other fool’s day. As a child of God, make sure that you are involved in the development and building of all aspects and dimensions of prosperity, and not just one or the other. Participate in the development of all; complete and total prosperity—spiritual, mental, physical, material, and financial. That’s your destiny and calling in Christ Jesus. Never listen to anyone who says one or the other is not important; hey, they all are!

There’s the fool that says, “All I need is finances, I don’t need God or a relationship with God—in fact, there’s no God, all that matters is money!” Now that’s the biggest fool of them all. And then there’s the other fool who says, “I don’t need finances, all I need is God.” That’s another fool who hasn’t understood his Bible and his assignment in the world that he has been brought into. Never be any of these fellows.

And then there’s the guy who is sound in doctrine and well-balanced; he or she understands that there is a balance between the spiritual, the intellectual, the physical, the material, and financial. Make sure that in your journey you are working on, developing, and pursuing all aspects of prosperity.

Mammon is the god of money in the world. If you’re going to worship him, he will give you money, but there must be collateral. That spirit has swayed the lives of men over the years (Matthew 23:31-35). There is a spirit world and there is a physical world, but the spirit world is more important. It rules and controls everything.

Now, regarding finances in the kingdom of God: the fact is, unless you are a tither, you cannot benefit or participate in the financial blessings of God. As a child of God, your giving, your tithes, your offerings, and your seeds are the things you need to do to participate in God’s principles of financial prosperity; and tithing is one of them; let no man deceive you.  Satan has been given strict rebuke against messing with a tither in any of their financial endeavors. So in the spirit realm, Satan sees you as either functioning with God’s principle or as functioning by your own foolish wisdom. And if you are a tither, you have no business with generational curses, lack, or limitation and poverty!  It’s impossible!

Listen, there will always be a distinction between those that tithe, and those that don’t. Make no mistakes about it.  I have been in ministry for a long enough period to study and watch both specimens. And trust me, you don’t want to be a part of those that don’t tithe – it never ends well.
Initially, it may appear like it is going well, but trust me, don’t trust me rather just trust your Bible, it is not going to end well.  Participate in tithing.
Tithing is in your Bible whether you like it or not; God’s Word said it first. Nobody randomly came up with the idea. The fact that it is in your Bible is all that you need. Never listen to the so-called Christians who like to negotiate and try to be smart with the authority of God’s Word. Don’t listen to those fools.

The fact is, the tithe is an idea that is extensively communicated in the Bible, which any true believer who believes in the infallibility of the Word of God should never have a problem with.  The last time I checked it was the Devil that opposes, dissuades, deceives and deviates from the things that God said or ask for in scripture. (Genesis 3:1 – 6)  Isn’t it insightful, how that the principle behind Genesis 3 had to do with a part that God said leave for me and you can have the rest of the trees in the garden; except for this one.  The Devil came right in and said “Really, did God say that?” The next time you hear someone is talking sideways about giving or tithing remember that.

Nowadays, they say all kinds of things to try and get you to not participate and give like, “Oh, that was Old Testament”, some will say “why tithe, when you can give more than 10%, you should give whatever you want even more than tithe in the new testament”.  All kinds of excuses; stop it, just start with the tithe and be faithful with that; and if you want to do more then do more but just stop talking and do it.

Hebrews Chapter 7 reveals to us three priesthoods-the priesthood of Melchizedek, the priesthood of Levi and the priesthood of Jesus Christ that is of the order of Melchizedek.  That is the priesthood that was before the Old Testament – Melchizedek, and then the Levitical priesthood of the Old Testament, and the priesthood of Jesus Christ of the New Testament.   And it reveals that  the purpose of these priesthoods was to also receive tithes together with other offerings and sacrifices.  And the priesthood of Jesus Christ is declared by the Word of God to be in the order of the priesthood of Melchizedek; if that is true, then if the priesthood of Melchizedek received tithes and the priesthood of Jesus Christ is of that order of Melchizedek; why wouldn’t the priesthood of Jesus Christ receive tithes?
It becomes very clear that only the Devil would suggest to you that a child of God shouldn’t pay tithes; and that the priesthood of Jesus Christ which is after the order of Melchizedek does not recognize or receive tithes.  That is foolish; do not be deceived.  The priesthood of Jesus Christ recognizes and receives the giving of tithes.

If you truly believe! Why would anyone who professes to be a believer in the infallibility of the Word of God that is contained in the Bible have a problem with what it says about tithing? The same buffoon has no problem paying fifteen, twenty, thirty, even forty percent taxes to his earthly government that is blatantly abused by corruption before everybody’s eyes. And that same person says they believe in Jesus, who said on the subject, “Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and unto God what belongs to God.” And that fool will lie to you and tell you Jesus was talking about hands lifted high, worship, and praises, and not offering and giving’s to God, sigh. These same false teachers come and try to dissuade God’s children from paying tithes in the house of God?

Listen, you can make excuses all you want; but the scriptures cannot be broken. You just have to decide what part of the scriptures you want to be involved with. But you can’t choose the consequences of being ignorant of the scriptures; those are fixed. So, in your life, choose wisely. Find out from the totality of God’s Word what His provisions for financial prosperity are and make up your mind to function in them. Focus on doing what the Word of God says only, and focus on being a doer of that only, no matter what’s trending or not regarding giving or not giving in the kingdom of God. Because if you don’t function by the Word of God, Satan has the right to do to you what he does to unbelievers, because you are operating outside of God’s principles of financial prosperity.

So never stop tithing; and if you’ve been on the fence as a child of God, start today, or as soon as possible, and never let anyone talk you out of it. Don’t wait; you will never regret it.

Pray The Word

Father, I thank You for the truth of prosperity that comes through my tithing, which separates me from the financial darkness of this world and connects me to Your financial blessings and provisions. I declare that I am a faithful tither, operating by Your Word and enjoying a glorious life free from lack and financial poverty in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Speak The Word

I am a tither, and I am separated from the financial darkness of this world! The financial blessings of Jesus Christ are mine, and participate in God’s financial system through my giving always. I function in divine authority, and no curse of poverty and lack has power over me. My finances are blessed, and I continually operate in God’s glorious plan for total and complete prosperity in my life!
